The Power of Enthusiasm

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I wrote a book. Well, it’s not a secret! By now, you likely know all about it. And, how exciting is it that it is a bestseller. In “The Secrets to Living a Fantastic Life,” I talk about 13 ways you can live your best life. Today, I want to dive deeper into one of my favourite  pearls and share how powerful it is. What is the secret? ENTHUSIASM!

Let me explain why.

It Attracts People to You

No one wants to be around someone who is constantly negative. Therefore, when you bring enthusiastic energy, people will gravitate to you. Try it just for an hour and you will be amazed. I remember one time at a seminar I had to give a speech. For instance, on this day, I was tired and missed my family. However, I came onto the stage and devoted all my energy into the speech. By the end, I was given a standing ovation and was the talk of the seminar. People are attracted to the energy you put out, so make sure to put out an enthusiastic and positive one. In other words, be sure to put out the attitude you wish to attract.

It Makes You Happy

The enthusiastic mindset pulls dopamine (the happy drug) into your body and you become happy! For example, in my story above, I was on stage for two hours and by the end of it I was pumped. Enthusiasm is an energy that you give to others, and to yourself. Therefore, meet each day with excitement and positivity and you will see your life change.

It Will Put You Ahead in Your Career

Do you know how most businesses hire? It usually comes down to these questions: can I or my team successfully work with this person? And how will they affect the workplace culture? Guess what? Enthusiastic people who know most of the skills needed, will get the job over the highly skilled Negative Nancy.

In my book, I discuss enthusiasm for a whole chapter. Practicing it will change your life for the better. I guarantee you that. I challenge you to try it for an hour! Be unapologetically enthusiastic and watch how people respond to you and how you feel. It may tire you out, as it takes a lot of energy. Above all, you want to be enthusiastic, you need to make sure you are meeting your basic needs…but more on that in my book.
