Are You on the Right Path?

Many spiritualities have signs to look out for that signify you are on the right life path. Some see déjà vu as being an example. Others would say seeing certain animals or rare celestial sights, like a falling star, is the universes way of showing you are on the right track. These barometers may mean different things to different people, but I would like to look at some other checkpoints that can show you are on the right path.

Obstacles Mean Less

No matter what you do or where you go in life there will be obstacles. Even Bill Gates has obstacles! What shows you are on the right path, is that those obstacles seem smaller, and you continue to work around them. Don’t let your obstacles stop or discourage you.

You are Less Affected by Others

A similar note to above, but no less true! The judgments of others don’t stick with you and you are able to focus on who and what is important. This is also a sign of maturity. A great breakthrough for many people is being able to say, “I love myself just the way I am”. I’m not advocating arrogance. That is not a good path. However, having a sense of self-respect and admiration? That is the right path! When you live your life because it brings you joy, and not because people give you admiration and applause, you are on the right track.

You Lose Track of Time

Time has less meaning when you are on the right path. You are too busy enjoying life to be concerned about the clock. This isn’t a defense for having poor time management. That is a whole other thing! It can however show that you are focused, energized and motivated by what you are doing. You do however need to make sure you set alarms so that you don’t miss appointments.

You Bring Joy

People who are on the wrong path do not emit joy. They are often negative and hurt others. On the contrary, people on the right path bring joy and happiness wherever they go. If you lift people up (while feeling good about yourself) chances are, you are doing something right!

A Caution

The above can be true and can be signs you are on your right path; but they can also be coincidences. An obstacle may mean less to you because you are on the right path. However, it may also point out that you have stopped caring. This would signify a problem that you should deal with. Remember in any self-improvement guide there is nuance. What may be true for one person, may not be true for you.

The Best Sign

The number one way to know if you are on your life’s right path is by meditating and looking inwards. By meditating on yourself and spending time in your own mind, you will come to find the truth. Only you can know if you are on your right path. I hope I have painted a few checkpoints that can help you ascertain that in your life.
